Water Based Dye Stain

A prayer labyrinth is a labyrinth used to facilitate prayer, meditation, spiritual transformation, and/or global unity. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth is designed for ease of navigation, and it is impossible to get lost within one.

This is a custom wall art piece that has a final dimension of 46" x 46". Labyrinth engraved in front with 4 keyhole slots on back to allow flush mounting to wall.

 This table was revamped with General Finishes Light Brown Water Based Dye Stain and Key West Blue Chalk Style Paint.

This desk features a beautiful burled veneer top that has been completely refinished with General Finishes Water Base Dye Stains.  It is a custom color mix consisting of Medium Brown Dye Stain with a touch of Dark Brown Dye Stain and sealed with Arm R Seal. The base of the desk was hand painted in a custom off white and then perfectly aged using General Finishes Van Dyke Brown Glaze.

Hand crafted coffee table finished with General Finishes Merlot Dye Stain. 

The top and crown are Medium Brown Dye Stain with Burnt Umber RTM (Ready to Match) stain wiped over. The cases are a mixture of Holiday Red Milk Paint, Empire Red and Merlot Dye then glazed with black stain.    

"It took a while, but I finally found a stain I'm in love with.  Found General Finishes at Lee Valley today and I am now converted.  I was having a hard time with offgassing of my other stains but these are water based so no odour!

Got Wood? Workshop of Spring Hill, KS created this cool look with burnt edges and GF Green Dye Stain.   Water Based Dye Stains penetrate deep into the wood to magnify the grain beautifully. They will provide your project with more depth and color vibrancy than any other stain. This product is excellent for highly figured woods like mahogany, walnut, or maple. Dye stains can also be used as a toner when mixed with Water Based Topcoats.

To achieve the teal-blue that has been created for the base, GF would recommend mixing Coastal Blue and Patina Green Milk Paint.

Mike Shipp blew us away with this entranceway remodeling! He used a a combination of Green, Pewter and Ebony Water Based Dye Stains. He then finished this amazing project with Exterior 450 Topcoat.

The Wooden Touch used GF's Amber Dye Stain to give this wood turned Maple vase a lovely bit of color.

"I applied two coats of GF Dye Stain in Light Brown to clear white pine boards, then used a sponge brush to lay down two coats of GF Java Gel Stain. After the stain dried, I used a clean cloth dipped in denatured alcohol to pull away some of the darker areas to reveal the amber-brown tones created by the Dye Stain. Check out this amazing hand crafted table from Marion Lovett! It first got a got of GF Amber Dye Stain, then a coat of Candlelight Gel Stain (shown in the second picture). Mary Schiff says, "It's been a while since I posted anything. Because of the cold weather and my unheated shop, I haven't been able to spray anything. I don't mind painting by hand, but topcoats are just not as smooth on large pieces. So, saying that, here is a bookcase I have been working on. This gorgeous custom-made cedar and redwood outdoor grill was finished in Vintage Cherry Dye Stain and sealed with Exterior 450 Top Coat in Satin by Colwell at Heirloom Quality Woodworks.

This project will be stored with a cover to protect the color from fading outdoors, because our dyes are not exterior rated. For an exterior rated alternative, we recommend using Exterior 450 Stains.

This radiant masterpiece was custom-made by the very talented Ryan at Kneeland Designs using General Finished pre-stain conditioners, as well as Orange, Amber, Empire Red, Cinnamon, Ebony and Blue Water-Based Dye Stains with white wash on the eyes!

This spectacular wall decoration was created from scratch by Kneeland Designs, and brought to life with a mixture of about 20 different General Finishes products! To start off, they applied water based conditioner and the oil based conditioner to the appropriate sections of the piece. Mary Schiff refinished this cute recycling center with a custom mix of our Snow White Milk Paint and Valspar. The maple top was stained with GF Light Brown Dye Stain, then the cabinet was sprayed with High Performance Topcoat in Satin. Christopher Clark finished these side tables in General Finishes products! He raised the grain with distilled water and sand, then he applied General Finishes Cinnamon and Dark Brown Dye Stains mixed 2-1. Grey Scotch Brite was used to break down any grain that was left, and then Enduro sanding sealer was used. Christopher suggests that the Enduro is sprayed for the best effect!
