Shelf in Brown Mahogany Gel Stain, Lamp Black Milk Paint and Light Brown Dye Stain

About This Post

Mary Schiff says, "It's been a while since I posted anything. Because of the cold weather and my unheated shop, I haven't been able to spray anything. I don't mind painting by hand, but topcoats are just not as smooth on large pieces. So, saying that, here is a bookcase I have been working on. The paint still needs a sealer but it will have to wait a bit longer. I love your products, GF! General Finishes Lamp Black milk paint was used on the box with Valspar 'Courtyard' for the green shade. Brown Mahogany Gel Stain was applied, then I added a coat of GF's Light Brown Dye Stain to give the color a bit more amber tones and finally, it was top coated with three brushed layers of GF High Performance in Satin. I really like this one." We do too! Here is a video tutorial by GF on the differences between GF stains and dyes:http://bit.ly/1vtZolo
