"Antique Oak Harlequin table. My initial plan for this OLD piece was to strip down and do a natural paint wash. Unfortunately years of being used as a plant stand took its toll. If you don't know... water causes black staining to oak. Because of the grain it's impossible to reverse. So... Plan B. It had to be unique and a little piece of art. Now finished in General Finishes Linen and Lamp Black Milk Paint. I've given a time worn Harlequin pattern to the top and an antique wash to give a...
"Just finished up a custom order refinishing two matching end tables! I gave them an updated look with a fresh coat of white paint, slightly distressed them and added a white wash (GF Winter White Glaze Effects) look to the tops to really enhance the beautiful wood grain. Now they have a coastal chic look. I’m thrilled with how they turned out and can't wait for my client to see them." - Madeline Jean Antiques & Restoration, LLC
"Meet Adeline. This piece is really quite old. Solid oak. Painted in Lamp Black by General Finishes and a tissue paper with a botanical print was used to decoupage the top and bottom. On the underside, a name, handwritten in cursive. Adeline. I didn’t have the heart to paint over it…the bottom was left exactly as I found it. It is part of its story." - REmade
Absolutely stunning and intricate custom handmade clock with a custom designed walnut table with maple inlay finished with General Finishes Arm-R-Seal Gloss.
Owl carving from locust by Michael J. Galovic of Ashville, NC. It has been finished with General Finished NEW Dead Flat High Performance Topcoat. Michael says, "it gave luster to the wood without giving it shine. Any kind of gloss would have distracted from the carving."
"At long last this pine beauty is complete! A full restoration was performed on this rustic chest and new life it has been given! This piece belonged to my clients Grandmother, likely dating back to the 1800’s with it’s hand cut dovetail joints. It has certainly stood the test of time having been moved numerous times, but nonetheless was in need of some TLC. My client asked for it to be lightened up and made functional and that is just what I did! I started by sanding back the existing...
"Joy to the World! A super, simple, thrifted, holiday decor idea!! I made my stencil for this project, using my Cricut machine. I clear coated the globe first then once dried, I place the stencil on and clear coated again. Once that dried, I painted on the message (two coats). I chose my favorite, go-to black by General Finishes called Lamp Black. Once that dried, I put on another clear coat of GF water based High Performance Topcoat." - REmade

The difference a day makes! We’ve painted and glazed these. Finish in...

“The mountains are calling and I must go.”This dresser is soo good! Even better in person! Painted in General Finishes Lamp Black. The mountains done in Minwax Early American, Ebony + True Black stains!" -
"The body was refinished in General Finishes Lamp Black while the drawers are Antique Walnut Gel Stain & Alabaster. The entire set is sealed with GF Satin High Performance Top Coat. Custom frames were built to add those iconic legs and new hardware was added for that final touch." - Delilah Tree
"100% Solid maple inside and out, this set is in AMAZING condition! Sanded completely down to bare wood. Then applied a diluted wash of General Finishes Millstone & Alabaster Milk Paint to keep the wood light and natural once sealant was applied. Updated the original wood hardware to black." - Elm Street Designs
"We’ve taken this from it’s original honey oak state to a more modern look with General Finishes Lamp Black Milk Paint and Brushable White Enamel!" - Goodwillhunting Lawson
"Who can go wrong with adding bleached oak chairs to their kitchen or dining space? And can we talk about that fabric! Stain and moisture resistant indoor/outdoor with an ultra thick yet still soft feel. Aged with a General Finishes Millstone Milk Paint wash which is our new favorite way to treat oak! Matte clear finish." - Restoration Reserve
"I absolutely adore this set. I’m not going to lie- I contemplated painting these for a few weeks but I just couldn’t bring myself to! True old oak is becoming SO hard to find and good quality wood shouldn’t be covered up in my opinion. Old growth white oak….. so while they did have some of that natural honey color, we had to subdue- I couldn’t be more thrilled with how these updated onto a traditional yet very versatile style! Translucent in General Finishes Millstone Milk Paint- created...
"We stripped this piece down to the natural wood, sealed it, and glazed it using General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects. The details on this one are amazing." - Belle Maison

Literally in love with this cutie & how could you go wrong with a FUN pop of COLOR!

"My super lovely client chose this gorgeous Avalon sideboard out of my available stock and gave me the brief - pink, blue, white, gold and as much of the wood saved as possible. The design was very much led by where the veneer was damaged and had to be covered and I'm super chuffed with it. When I showed the end result the response was "It's incredible! Is it really mine?" Not going to lie - it made me well up a bit - in a very good way! Paint by General Finishes: Persian Blue and Ballet Pink...
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! That’s just what my client saw when she picked this piece up off the side of the road. When she dropped it off for me to save, we had a GOOD laugh! It was literally falling apart…we even named it “the lost cause!” She was adamant though, that we try and save it as she saw its potential and had a clear vision for it! After a full days work of rebuilding this from the inside out, it proved itself that it was no longer a lost cause, but a strong and sturdy...
"The tops of these end tables left a lot to be desired. They came out easily and left an inset. I thought this was a perfect time to learn how to apply veneer. I headed to Exotic Woods Inc and they were amazing in helping me! I found a 1/4” birch board that was cut to size and a roll of cherry veneer to match the drawer. I used my t-square as guide and, leaving a little overage on each side, cut using a sharp knife. To apply the veneer to the board, I used heavy duty contact cement. I...

I just love what some good old fashioned elbow grease, some restoration and replacement, and an amazing neutral paint color can do for a tired, old piece! The previous orangey-black finish was quite ugly (scroll to see the before picture) and totally camouflaged the true beauty of this vintage 4 drawer chest! I just love how it transformed from tired, dark and meh…to romantic, sophisticated and beautiful!!

Like many pieces before her, this one had some issues and those...

"One of my creative pieces to date. This piece reminds me of my time in the South Asian country of Loas. Tall mountains hover over each other in northern parts of Vang Vieng. Refinished using General Finishes Antique White, Halcyon Blue, custom mix of Lamp Black and Halcyon Blue and Gulf Stream Blue. This piece is upcycled by removing bottom base, cutting off the sides and attaching new metal feet. Top has been sanded and sealed using High Performance in satin." - Sage Furnishings

Just finished turning this old church pew into a farmhouse decor lovers dream! I used...

"A sidewalk sale find turned into a soft and inviting dresser! The top left a lot to be desired but I couldn’t pass up this gorgeous Art Deco waterfall dresser. I started by thoroughly cleaning the piece and sanding the top and drawers. That wood that I uncovered is seriously unbelievable. Using General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects, I applied one coat, left for a couple minutes and then wiped off. The whitewashed look the glaze achieves is perfection. Three coats of GF High-...
"The Stella Set. Simple and classy was the goal with these babes. They already had enough style in the body to add some glam but we wanted to make them a bit more versatile. So we went with General Finishes Coastal Blue on the french style bases, with a satin finish topcoat. Laminate tops were sanded down and did our OWN hand applied marbling technique. Each one is one-of-a-kind and different! A blend of four different General Finishes products: Seagull Gray, Empire Gray, Perfect Gray and...
"I love getting to do different colorful things! It’s so much more fun then the typical white and gray! Although I always love those when they are done too, I just love getting to use my blues and greens! We had a great time with this job! There’s still a little bit more work that needs to be done to the trim but how pretty is this fireplace?! We painted this using General Finishes Reverent Gray, Queenstown Gray, Cardamom, Basil, and Persian Blue. To add a little sparkle we glazed the whole...
"From a tired looking finish to a sleek modern beauty! As I started sanding the drawers and that beautiful wood emerged, I was a smitten kitten. After sanding the drawers and the legs, I applied one coat of General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects. I absolutely love the whitewashed/lightened wood it creates. It was then sealed with two coats of the General Finishes High Performance Topcoat. The top was repaired to the best it could be. It was a laminate finish so there were a few bumpy...
"Sanded it down to the natural finish, sealed it, and glazed it using General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects." - Belle Maison
Absolute stunner in General Finishes Millstone, Linen & Basil Milk Paint as well as Burnished Pearl Effects.

"MCM maple dresser. Drawers were sanded to bare wood. Fun geometric metallic gold pattern over gray paint. Wood was left natural, no stain. Body refinished in General Finishes Alabaster Milk Paint. Entire piece sealed in a flat finish." - Elm Street Designs

"This bare/lightened wood look is such a good way to highlight the wood grain of these gorgeous pieces. For this dresser, I sanded most of the dresser to bare wood using my Dewalt orbital sander. I like to do this sometimes, sand most of the piece, because then I’m not limited when I figure out the design. In this case, I ended up only leaving the top and the drawers with the wood exposed. The frame and legs were chalk painted using Annie Sloan’s Athenian Black. The paint was sealed using...
"I transformed this boring orange pine coffee table into a farmhouse dream using products I’d never used before. Don’t be scared to try new things! I knew I wanted a sort of barnwood farmhouse look to this table. I sanded the ugly orange pine to bare wood and applied Amy Howard At Home Better with Age which reacts to the tannins and oils in the wood and ages it. It’s a crap shoot what you’ll get and the pine turned a slight grayish color on the grain. Next I added General Finishes Van Dyke...
"This beautiful oak table and chair set turned out gorgeous! I love the light wood with the black chairs! The table was stripped to raw wood and white washed with General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects and the chairs were done in Lamp Black. A beautiful combination!" - Duke Interiors and Restoration
"Modern Scandanavian Boho Eight drawer dresser. A quality vintage MCM piece has been given a custom design. Its base was built out to accept its new 6" black iron legs. General Finishes Lamp Black was used to give a modern updated finish. All 8 drawers were built out with 60+ pieces of hand cut and bleached wood accents. OVER 125 FEET of custom wood trim was used for this original design. Sold black iron bar pulls are the perfect simple modern accent. The black finish and bleached wood...

Amazing craftsmanship of these exterior model buildings by Larry Webb of Pops Restorations in Franklin, TN. They were painted with General Finishes Milk Paint and sealed with GF Exterior 450 Water Based Topcoat. e
"Phew! This Canada Cabinets tall dresser was WORK. In total, I sanded for 2.5 hours to get through the finish and veneer on the drawers. But look at that beautiful wood underneath. The frame was painted using Annie Sloan’s Athenian Black and sealed with clear wax. The drawers had one coat of General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects applied and then wiped. This created a whitewash look and I LOVE it! Once dry, I sealed with their High Performance Topcoat. I added new gold hardware that *...

"Oh My! LOVE LOVE LOVE this piece! This armoire was sanded down to the natural finish, sealed and glazed using General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects. What a statement piece." - Belle Maison

I found, and fell in love with, a set of framed botanical prints on a black background, different than so many others I had seen. BUT I didn't love the price tag So I figured it couldn't be too difficult to make my own! What do you think? I painted three 10x10 canvases in...

"Leave it to this duo to upgrade your space with their distinctive modern style. Their strong bodies are covered in General Finishes Alabaster. The drawers have been stripped and sealed to their original wood tone. A custom retro pattern painted in a metallic vintage gold gives them an added unique flair. New hardware and sleek legs complete their new look." - Barely Vintage Restorations

I used Persimmon, Coral Crush, Royal Purple, Klein Blue, Sunglow, Emerald, Patina Green and Holiday Red milk paints along with a few other acrylic colors on this painting. The coverage is nice, blending is easy, and I love seeing all the bright colors together.

"These lockers were a great find and originally I was gonna clean them up to resell them but after realizing they had a perfect pole inside to hold hangers, we decided to use them instead of our plan to build a closet in this space. The outside was covered in rust when we bought it so I sanded it all off and then top coated it in a flat top coat to seal and hopefully stop further rusting. The inside I scraped off the old paint, primed and painted in General Finishes Alabaster Milk Paint and...
