"Bittersweet sending this table back home with its family. This is the work I love to do! Refinishing, restoration, restyling, and with a little modification! I have to thank my clients for putting all of their faith into my work and allowing me to make executive decisions where deemed necessary. It’s the greatest feeling when your client exudes all confidence in your craftsmanship and truly respects your opinion and advice. Though I’m always nervous when I return belongings to my clients, I...
"This is an incredible antique buffet! Made in Chicago by Orlbrich and Goldbeck in the late 1800’s, this quarter sawn oak Victorian Buffet has been completely refinished using General Finishes products. The top was dyed in Light Brown (Dye Stain) giving it a rich English Chestnut color and paired with a worn Queenstown Gray finish. New D. Lawless Hardware and black and white floral details give this traditional yet modern makeover a special touch." - ReFind Design by Coco Clare

Body of desk was painted in a Peppery Gray and pewter metallic paint added to carved accents. Desk top and drawer fronts were stripped down to the bare wood and 2 coats of the GF Light Brown water based DYE Stain applied. A gold metallic stencil was added to top before sealing. Origianl knobs were cleaned and painted in a gold metallic to match the stencil on desk top.

"I applied two coats of GF Dye Stain in Light Brown to clear white pine boards, then used a sponge brush to lay down two coats of GF Java Gel Stain. After the stain dried, I used a clean cloth dipped in denatured alcohol to pull away some of the darker areas to reveal the amber-brown tones created by the Dye Stain. Instead of using a traditional topcoat I rubbed in a coat of beeswax. I love your products and we love our new beam." - Mary Schiff

Mary Schiff says, "It's been a while since I posted anything. Because of the cold weather and my unheated shop, I haven't been able to spray anything. I don't mind painting by hand, but topcoats are just not as smooth on large pieces. So, saying that, here is a bookcase I have been working on. The paint still needs a sealer but it will have to wait a bit longer. I love your products, GF! General Finishes Lamp Black milk paint was used on the box with Valspar 'Courtyard' for the green shade....
Mary Schiff refinished this cute recycling center with a custom mix of our Snow White Milk Paint and Valspar. The maple top was stained with GF Light Brown Dye Stain, then the cabinet was sprayed with High Performance Topcoat in Satin. Mary says, "I love the soft sheen, knowing that the finish will stand up to heavy usage."
