"Well we took an ugly yellow table and turned it around as a new LIFE! Stripped down and finished in GF Antique White with beautiful Van Dyke Brown glazing in the details! Top has been stripped of that disgusting veneer and found a spectacular wood base that we finished for the most amazing blend of wood tones! Hand applied General Finishes Arm-R-Seal in satin. I love this piece. It’s versatile in style and detailed enough to look custom!" - Restoration Reserve
"Three Drawer Card Catalog Chest. A full redesign. Solid knotty pine reimagined into a faux 12 drawer card catalog inspired style. It's new base and legs give this piece stature and style. It's 3 drawers were all hand trimmed out to appear as 12. 24 pieces of all black hardware keep the look simple. The yellow pine top was stripped, sanded and then bleached multiple times to remove the gold tones and stay on trend with a natural wood finish. Finished in General Finishes Lamp Black Milk Paint...
"Just finished up a custom order refinishing two matching end tables! I gave them an updated look with a fresh coat of white paint, slightly distressed them and added a white wash (GF Winter White Glaze Effects) look to the tops to really enhance the beautiful wood grain. Now they have a coastal chic look. I’m thrilled with how they turned out and can't wait for my client to see them." - Madeline Jean Antiques & Restoration, LLC
"At long last this pine beauty is complete! A full restoration was performed on this rustic chest and new life it has been given! This piece belonged to my clients Grandmother, likely dating back to the 1800’s with it’s hand cut dovetail joints. It has certainly stood the test of time having been moved numerous times, but nonetheless was in need of some TLC. My client asked for it to be lightened up and made functional and that is just what I did! I started by sanding back the existing...

"I started this job in October and it has been a labour of love for me. This cabinet has been in a fire and although it had survived its finish was in rough shape. General Finishes Tuscan Red with Pitch Black Glaze Effects." - Paint and Hammer
"This piece is so adorable and petite and OLD. Sanded down and stained the top in Jacobean. Body painted in General Finishes Persian Blue with Smokey Gray Glaze Effects applied then distressed. Four lined drawers slide effortlessly." - Elm Street Designs

This antique vanity is such a cool piece. It’s true when they say they just don’t make furniture like they used to, and this is the perfect example. Painted in Antique White by...
"What an incredible transformation this table has had! The paint job was pretty tired when my client found it and was in desperate need of a makeover. I stripped the old paint so we could start fresh. There was a ton of wear/water damage on the bottom which was made of an MDF substrate. We added a wooden bottom and I used an epoxy wood filler to fill the gap between the table and the new bottom, sanded and shaped it to the original and now it looks like it has always been that way. And it’s...
"A vintage Dixie Furniture Campaigner Chest has been fully re-imagined and redesigned into a stunning industrial style piece. "We’ve taken it from its original state and refinished it in General Finishes Dark Chocolate Milk Paint with Pitch Black Glaze Effects on top." - Good Will Hunting Lawson
"Design for the present, with an awareness of the past.   The previous generations of craftsmen had timeless taste. Color and finish trends come and go, but some designs stand the test of time. This Hepplewhite dresser is one of them. Circa 1940 this piece was modeled after the original designs of English cabinet maker George Hepplewhite from the 18th century. It has an elegant serpentine front along with the lesser found serpentine sides on the top. True to it's English roots, we chose...
"Stunning, vintage trunk. Handmade. I kept all the original charm intact. The bronze iron latch, hinges and gorgeous feet. I also left all the little “beauty marks” it has acquired over the years. Painted Basil, dry brushed with Antique White & glazed with Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects all by General Finishes! I also added that front wood embellishment, dry brushed, glazed and lightly distressed." - Ollie Rose Market
The tops are textured harlequin. General Finishes Lamp Black, Pitch Black Glaze and High Performance Topcoat with Rustoleum Metallic Accents in Classic Bronze.
"The tops of these end tables left a lot to be desired. They came out easily and left an inset. I thought this was a perfect time to learn how to apply veneer. I headed to Exotic Woods Inc and they were amazing in helping me! I found a 1/4” birch board that was cut to size and a roll of cherry veneer to match the drawer. I used my t-square as guide and, leaving a little overage on each side, cut using a sharp knife. To apply the veneer to the board, I used heavy duty contact cement. I...
"Gorgeous 9 drawer dresser that exudes elegance. General Finishes Persian Blue Milk Paint with Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects is the perfect color choice for this beauty!"
I have been waiting for just the right piece to do a deep emerald green on and once I got this sideboard home, I knew this was the piece!! When I found this mahogany beauty, the top was in horrible shape and there was no key to unlock the door. The owner said it had been years since they had the key but I knew we could remove the back and figure it out from there and I hoped for a treasure inside. Once we removed the back and got everything opened, all that was in there was a penny and a...

I just love what some good old fashioned elbow grease, some restoration and replacement, and an amazing neutral paint color can do for a tired, old piece! The previous orangey-black finish was quite ugly (scroll to see the before picture) and totally camouflaged the true beauty of this vintage 4 drawer chest! I just love how it transformed from tired, dark and meh…to romantic, sophisticated and beautiful!!

Like many pieces before her, this one had some issues and those...

"Refinished in my new favorite green Westminster Green, by General Finishes and General Finishes Pitch Black Glaze added. Top stained in General Finishes Java Gel stain with multiple coats of GF Gel Topcoat for durability." - Keri Traditional Designs

"We came across this perfect vintage linen chest while back and somehow it ended up lost in the midst of other projects. But all comes to light in it's own time...and this one was well worth the wait! To transform this piece we sprayed a custom mix of General Finishes Lamp Black and Snow White for the subtle ash black I had in mind. It carries the perfect muted tone. The top coat has the perfect matte sheen that feels amazing to the touch. The original brass hardware was polished and glazed...
"Coastal Vibes. General Finishes Persian Blue Milk Paint W/ Van Dyke Glaze brought this dresser back to life!" - Gracefully Modern

Do you ever have mic drop moment? When I finished this buffet, that's exactly how I felt

Stripping furniture is no easy feat, no matter how you spin it, but some pieces demand it. This was one of those pieces. Let me tell you why...

Made in Norwich England around 1860 by Trevor Page & Co cabinet makers, it lived the first century of it's life close to it's origin. Fast forward to 1976. A young military wife expecting her first child took a daytrip to a...

"I stripped the top, which is laminate, and gave it an extra heavy sand with 80 grit sandpaper. Usually 220 is sufficient but this was extra slick. The paint was adhering well to the body so I gave it a really good sand and gave the entire piece three coats of primer, checked for adhesion issues and everything was sticking. The paint color is a custom light, warm gray. I used General Finishes Snow White and Antique White in equal parts (1 cup each) and added a little Perfect Gray (1/8 cup)...

Have you ever tried painting fabric? The process is very different than painting furniture but I'm so pleased with the results!

When I found this $20 chair at the Habitat for Humanity Restore I walked past, admiring it, multiple times and even sitting down to test it out before I decided I couldn't leave without it.

Products used:

"A sidewalk sale find turned into a soft and inviting dresser! The top left a lot to be desired but I couldn’t pass up this gorgeous Art Deco waterfall dresser. I started by thoroughly cleaning the piece and sanding the top and drawers. That wood that I uncovered is seriously unbelievable. Using General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects, I applied one coat, left for a couple minutes and then wiped off. The whitewashed look the glaze achieves is perfection. Three coats of GF High-...
"Solid Cherry, she has an amazing top we just couldn't get over- so we bleached the red tones out and were left with a fabulous neutral! No stain at all, just clear coated in our absolute favorite hand applied General Finishes Arm-R-Seal. Base has been refreshed in Persian Blue with Pitch Black and light grey glazes for detail." - Restoration Reserve
"The Stella Set. Simple and classy was the goal with these babes. They already had enough style in the body to add some glam but we wanted to make them a bit more versatile. So we went with General Finishes Coastal Blue on the french style bases, with a satin finish topcoat. Laminate tops were sanded down and did our OWN hand applied marbling technique. Each one is one-of-a-kind and different! A blend of four different General Finishes products: Seagull Gray, Empire Gray, Perfect Gray and...
"From a tired looking finish to a sleek modern beauty! As I started sanding the drawers and that beautiful wood emerged, I was a smitten kitten. After sanding the drawers and the legs, I applied one coat of General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects. I absolutely love the whitewashed/lightened wood it creates. It was then sealed with two coats of the General Finishes High Performance Topcoat. The top was repaired to the best it could be. It was a laminate finish so there were a few bumpy...

"Sanded it down to the natural finish, sealed it, and glazed it using General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects." - Belle Maison

Thia is a 32x80 pantry door co structured from clear alder. Stained with a General Finishes New Pine Gel Stain, simply to take out some of the red. Then I clear coated the entire thing then worked some black antiquing glaze, also from my friends at General Finsihes over the entire door.

"This bare/lightened wood look is such a good way to highlight the wood grain of these gorgeous pieces. For this dresser, I sanded most of the dresser to bare wood using my Dewalt orbital sander. I like to do this sometimes, sand most of the piece, because then I’m not limited when I figure out the design. In this case, I ended up only leaving the top and the drawers with the wood exposed. The frame and legs were chalk painted using Annie Sloan’s Athenian Black. The paint was sealed using...

"I transformed this boring orange pine coffee table into a farmhouse dream using products I’d never used before. Don’t be scared to try new things! I knew I wanted a sort of barnwood farmhouse look to this table. I sanded the ugly orange pine to bare wood and applied Amy Howard At Home Better with Age which reacts to the tannins and oils in the wood and ages it. It’s a crap shoot what you’ll get and the pine turned a slight grayish color on the grain. Next I added General Finishes Van Dyke...
"This beautiful oak table and chair set turned out gorgeous! I love the light wood with the black chairs! The table was stripped to raw wood and white washed with General Finishes Winter White Glaze Effects and the chairs were done in Lamp Black. A beautiful combination!" - Duke Interiors and Restoration
"This piece was refinished using General Finishes Driftwood Milk Paint and glazed with GF Winter White Glaze Effects on the base and Stonecoatcountertops.com on the top. It turned out absolutely stunning! A statement piece for sure!!" - Duke Interiors and Restoration
"Refinished in a custom mix of General Finishes paints. Let’s see, we have Halcyon Blue, Millstone, Reverent Gray, Antique White, Perfect Gray, and Alabaster. I went a little crazy mixing. The result is a very pretty teal/gray/baby blue. I added some GF Winter White Glaze Effects over it and lightly distressed to create a worn, layered look. Some fun wallpaper on the back completes the look!" - Elm Street Designs
"General Finishes Persian Blue Milk Paint with Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects. What a transformation!" - Gracefully Modern
