"I am really in love with the colors and contrast of this desk and had to share! The desk is made by Drexel and designed by John Van Koert- a furniture designer who was very influential in bringing Danish design to America in the 1960's. I applied a coat of General Finishes's Antique Walnut Gel Stain to the top and used Queenstown Gray Milk Paint on the body." - Liz Christensen of Possum Hollow Designs

Check out this awesome transformation by Gina Zastany! She livened up this staircase using the oh so charming Brown Mahogany Gel Stain

"This gorgeous antique Tiger Oak chest with amazing beveled mirror. I couldnt cover up all her amazing wood grain, it made her who she is. So I stained her down and restained her. She got drenched in a custom gray with highlights throughout. To top her all off, she got all her sides of her drawers some beautiful flower decoupage!" - Heavenly Chic Refinishing

Heavenly Chic used Brown Mahogany Gel for the stain. To achieve the gray color, you could use GF Driftwood Milk Paint

This classic look was brought to you by VintagelessJules. GF Linen Milk Paint and Antique Walnut Gel Stain are a timeless duo.
Lovely buffet in GF Driftwood Milk Paint, Java Gel Stain and High Performance Topcoat.

"I stripped all the material off the sides down to the frame, sanded the feet, and added the new siding... I did the best I could with the alignment and then filled in any gaps with a stainable wood filler, which worked great! I stained everything (feet and sides) in General Finishes’ Java Gel Stain (because I’m obsessed with the stuff) and finished with a couple coats of a Minwax Polyurethane. This chest is heavy-duty now!" - Restored Living

"Finished for a client. Boy were these chairs a hot mess, had to be former bar/restaurant chairs. They have been used and abused, covered in greasy, grimy nicotine gunk. I ended up having to strip and sand them back to bare wood- not the initial plan, but sometimes the furniture itself throws in its own curve balls into your project. They were then stained with General Finishes Brown Mahogany Gel Stain. After staining and sealing, two of the chairs were painted in a custom creamy blend. The...

"Loving this new Industrial Table & bench! Custom stools can be added (or another bench)! Need a different size? We customize! This table was stained using General Finishes Candlelite Gel Stain, with Java Gel Stain rubbed in, sealed with High Performance Flat Topcoat. We find that Gel Stains are really effective in working color into soft woods like Fir. Letting one color dry, then using a rag to work in a darker color on top helps create this look, which is a total "wow." " - Lush•Paint...
"This light maple desk is boring no more! The top was sanded down to bare wood, exposing beautiful birds eye maple. With a custom mix of several General Finishes gel stains, layers of this beautiful and rich color were applied, before sealing in their High Performance Topcoat in satin. The body was prepped and painted with General Finishes Milk Paint, in Coastal Blue, before sealing with their High Performance Topcoat in flat."- Once Upon A Window   Find your favorite GF products in the U...

"I decided to sand down my kitchen table and restain it with General Finishes Gel Stain in Antique Walnut, the same can I used on my fiberglass front door posted a few weeks ago...then 4 coats of their Enduro topcoat. The sanding took the most time but still only a half hour...I worked on it off and on throughout the day for a total of maybe an hour. It was done by the time the kids got off the bus and we still ate dinner on it. I wish I had a pic before sanding but I just jumped in and...

"We were so excited to do this project. We started with a Golden/Honey Oak kitchen that was beautifully designed but need a little extra umph. We decided that we needed a contrasting darker island with a light base on the cabinets.

We started off by painting all of the cabinets except the island in a cream white color. Then we took General Finishes Van Dyke Brown glaze in all of the detail work to make the cabinets pop next to the dark island. We put several coats of sealer to...

"A true trash to treasure - this vintage desk was rescued from the curb after it had been sitting in the rain!

"The color on the body of the dresser is Midnight Blue Chalk Style. It is a very deep, deep blue, almost black; A very rich and sophisticated color which I think works nicely on modern furniture or traditional. I applied two coats of this color. The paint is self leveling so you can’t see brush marks. To seal I applied three coats of Gray Gel Stain A little of this goes a LONG way. I still am on my first can. I like how easy it is to apply. When applying it looks white but when dry it...

Karin of Art Is Beauty share this fast and lovely dresser restyle!

She explains her project, "I decided since most [of the dresser's damage] was really surface scratches, I could get away with just a light sanding and then use my General Finishes Java Gel Stain on it to bring out the richness of the wood... I wanted to add a little pop of color so I chose Somerset Gold Milk Paint... When it was dry I used their High Performance Topcoat Satin to seal all of it."

"Love your stains. Recently did a dresser in an Annie Sloan mix but the top is the show stopper. I created a faux burl effect with a couple of your stains. It worked out fabulously. I used the water-based Orange Dye Stain first, then proceeded to use Candlelite and Java Gel Stains to aid in the burl effect!" - Tammy Sue of The Uppity

To achieve the teal-blue that has been created for the base, GF would recommend mixing Coastal Blue and Patina Green Milk Paint.
