Union Jack Desk Transformation

About This Post

We're loving this Union Jack piece that Steph at Rehab to Fab upcycled for her daughter using Coastal Blue, Snow White, and Holiday Red Milk Paint, Java Gel Stain, and Arm-R-Seal Topcoat! Stephanie shared her process here: "I rehabbed this 1968 desk/vanity for my daughter. I painted a Union Jack Chest for her 12th bday. I painted this piece in all the same colors. I used a Cling On brush (the best brush for GF) & General Finishes Coastal Blue Milk paint, sides are Snow white and stencil are Holiday Red. Top I had to paint on the Java Gel Stain because the wood just wouldn't take the stain. I taped off a grain sack strip with painters tape and automotive detailing stripe. Once the Gel Stain was dry, I pulled the tape off to reveal the oringal wood. Sealed the top with General Finishes Arm-R-Seal and the paint was sealed with Polyvine Ltd Wax Finish varnish in Dead Flat."
