Stunning buffet in General Finishes Coastal Blue Milk Paint.
"This solid pine storage bench has been completely transformed from its old boring past and now its future is looking bright!I knew right away I wanted to add a cushion so first I found the fabric and then picked the colors. I started with General Finishes Milk Paint in Linen then added the grain sack stripes in Key West Blue and finished with this beautiful grains stencil in Coastal Blue. The blues matched the fabric exactly and just tied it all together so nicely!"
"The body was painted in my favorite navy blue “Coastal Blue” by General Finishes and sealed with their High Performance Top Coat in Flat. No distressing at all. New amazing hardware - lucite pulls and quatrefoil drop pulls - purchased online from Ballard Designs . Staged with a stunning custom painting by local artist, Jill Perla Art. "
Stunning buffet in General Finishes Coastal Blue Milk Paint
Handsome dresser in General Finishes Coastal Blue Milk Paint
Mid century pieces are for sure growing on me. I love the simple lines and being able to mix wood grain with paint, my favorite thing to do! This dresser did not last long in my inventory, in fact I had a waiting list of interest. I will for sure be the hunt for more! Jill was the lucky lady who got to pick the colors that worked best in her home. She chose the beautiful color combination of General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain with Coastal Blue Milk Paint, one of my favorite combos...
This eight drawer dresser has been painted in a custom mix of General Finishes Coastal Blue, Sunglow Yellow with a touch of a true turqouise to make this gorgeous blue - very similar to Magnolia Home's Weekend Blue. Original hardware.
Unusual commode, simple, with interesting dimensions. In a narrow range of cold colors where blues and purples permeate each other. Layered applied General Finishes paint in Klein Blue, Royal Purple, Coastal Blue, Lime Green, Snow White. The shimmering metallic effect of Pearl Effect in gold and Brick Red was applied on the spot. Visible cracks and splinters add "years". The center is an energizing plum.
The look of this dresser makes my heart beat faster. Age-old, made of solid wood with elements of oak veneer. One of its kind, aged by multi-layered application of a whole range of mixed colors on the furniture, which gently penetrate each other creating an impression of being damaged by time. The inspiration for it was impressionist paintings trying to capture the fleeting moment and the sensual play of colors.
Incredible, one of a kind, full-color commode. Layers Painted with General Finishes milk paints, applied one by one in the following colors: Coastal Blue, Halcyon Blue, Klein Blue, Persimmon, Sunglow, Coral Crush, Linen. The rust effect is the color of Pearl Effects, Tawny. Handles adapted from the old dresser.
This Blue Jean Girl is stunning!
I'm in love with Coastal Blue and it brought out the modern look of this piece. With the brushed snow white on the drawers that where sanded back to give it a jean look.
With all this color this free-spirit stops you in your tracks. With a General Finishes Coastal Blue base it is layered with a little help from Modern Masters Apple Green and Copper Penny. Let's lighten the Coastal just a bit with some Klein Blue that will help bring out those details. Wait, it's not quite finished yet, lets add some Artistic Painting Studio Copper foil to those pretty legs and hardware! Ahhhh, now let her go and watch her fly.
I loved the lines of this petite china cabinet but almost didn’t buy it. It was missing a glass panel and shelves and had a couple other things wrong with it. But my friend made me a good deal and challenged me to “make something cool”. Never one to shy away from a challenge, I loaded it in my car. It lingered in my studio for a long time before I knew what to do with it. Taking my cue from the architecture of the piece I decided an Indian inlay look was the way to go. Playing off the...
Three cabinet colors in one kitchen? Why, YES, thank you!! What a combination of colors for these 1970s kitchen cabinets! This gal is definitely not afraid of color and wanted her island to be a turquoise stunner! The upper cabinets were painted in GF white Enduro Poly in Satin. The paint was taken up past the cabinets over the old paneling to give the appearance of taller cabinets and more openness to the kitchen. Enduro custom mixed in Driftwood was the perfect color for the bottoms...
This is a true rags to riches. This dresser was so broke that the free store for the homeless GAVE it to me- not a joke! I used to work at the shelter, & the warehouse manager said "gurrrllll, do you want this?" I was planning to take the handles and burn the rest! Ha! My Man Friend said "we can fix that!"
I rolled my eyes but he did! Painted in GF Coastal Blue, with GF Copper Pearl Effects, this Cinderella is sealed in GF High Performance Satin & was quickly purchased by an...
This lovely Linen cabinet was given a fresh new look. I stripped and primed first and then used Coastal Blue over the whole piece. The interiors were stained using Antique oak stain. I stenciled each top corner of the cabinet using Burnished Pearl and also used burnished pearl on each leg. The piece was then sealed with High Performance Top Coat, and she was ready to go.

Custom Mix of GF Coastal Blue + Emerald Green, accented with Pitch Black Glaze Effects
One of my favourite places for second hand hunting is the Old Fire Station. It's run by two hilarious guys, full of fabulous stories about their house clearance adventures. The whole place is filled with gorgeous goodies, mostly older antiques that wouldn't look out of place in a country manor house, but they often have little bits and bobs and I reckon they enjoy me and my mum popping in. We generally buy all the old tat - garden rakes, old posters, broken chairs. More often than not they...
Coastal Blue Milk Paint and Walnut Liquid Oil Based Stain

"Look at all that blue yumminess! This big dresser was beautiful knotty pine to begin with but I thought it could use a little facelift. It’s been painted with a custom blue using General Finishes Snow White, Antique White, Coastal Blue and Federal Blue. Federal Blue is a discontinued color, that I absolutely love, but I happened to find some several months ago and have been squirreling it away. Silly right? I decided it was time to break it open! The wash is Antique White and I custom mixed...
This pantry door was SO FUN to paint... and it was also for my own kitchen (YAY!) so I could reallly get creative with it! It’s actually “half” of a French door set that I found at our local Habitat ReStore.... and what do you know, it was the EXACT size of our pantry door... easy swap!!!
It all started with a coat of “Costal Blue”... I was going to distress and stop there... but since I was keeping it for myself, I decided to have a little bit of fun! I started getting carried away...

I used all General Finishes Milk Paints from one of my favorite local retailers Woodcraft Manchester to create this piece. I used Patina Green, Emerald, Halcyon Blue, Coastal Blue, Snow White and Driftwood. Oh seven colors if you include the stain on top too! "This vintage Henry Link dresser needed some major love but right away I could see the potential. My friend had asked me to be on the lookout for a curvy dresser for her daughter and I knew this one would be perfect!
I was given one directive, she wanted it light blue with no hue of green and was given free reign on the rest! I set out to create the perfect light blue using General Finishes Snow White as my base and added just a touch of Coastal Blue. The hardware on this dresser was long...
