China Blue Chest

"I'm really pleased with how this trunk came out. Our customer picked it out of our warehouse and wanted to keep the mid-century vibe with some wood showing. She picked the new General Finishes Carbon Gray Gel Stain & GF China Blue for the base.   Gray can be tricky for older woods. The top came out nicely, but the other areas struggled to take any stain - totally normal, as they probably weren't the same cut of wood. I used a mix of Fusion Mineral Paint Ash and Clear Glaze to tone the wood, matching the top. I sealed the China Blue with Fusion's Beeswax & the stained areas with General Finishes Semi-Gloss and Flat High Performance Topcoat."
