"Design for the present, with an awareness of the past.
The previous generations of craftsmen had timeless taste. Color and finish trends come and go, but some designs stand the test of time. This Hepplewhite dresser is one of them. Circa 1940 this piece was modeled after the original designs of English cabinet maker George Hepplewhite from the 18th century. It has an elegant serpentine front along with the lesser found serpentine sides on the top. True to it's English roots, we chose...
I have been waiting for just the right piece to do a deep emerald green on and once I got this sideboard home, I knew this was the piece!!
When I found this mahogany beauty, the top was in horrible shape and there was no key to unlock the door. The owner said it had been years since they had the key but I knew we could remove the back and figure it out from there and I hoped for a treasure inside. Once we removed the back and got everything opened, all that was in there was a penny and a...

"We came across this perfect vintage linen chest while back and somehow it ended up lost in the midst of other projects. But all comes to light in it's own time...and this one was well worth the wait! To transform this piece we sprayed a custom mix of General Finishes Lamp Black and Snow White for the subtle ash black I had in mind. It carries the perfect muted tone. The top coat has the perfect matte sheen that feels amazing to the touch. The original brass hardware was polished and glazed...

Made in Norwich England around 1860 by Trevor Page & Co cabinet makers, it lived the first century of it's life close to it's origin. Fast forward to 1976. A young military wife expecting her first child took a daytrip to a...
"Solid Cherry, she has an amazing top we just couldn't get over- so we bleached the red tones out and were left with a fabulous neutral! No stain at all, just clear coated in our absolute favorite hand applied General Finishes Arm-R-Seal.
Base has been refreshed in Persian Blue with Pitch Black and light grey glazes for detail." - Restoration Reserve
Thia is a 32x80 pantry door co structured from clear alder. Stained with a General Finishes New Pine Gel Stain, simply to take out some of the red. Then I clear coated the entire thing then worked some black antiquing glaze, also from my friends at General Finsihes over the entire door.
"I love when my clients go bold! Especially on big pieces! This was painted in Holiday Red by General Finishes and then Pitch Black glaze was applied. I love refinishing these Hepplewhite buffets, they really do look good in any color!" - Flipping Unbelievable

"Talk about a before-and-after! This rock maple server had good bones and excellent construction. The only problem it has was a dated finish and even more dated hardware. To solve that, I painted it with Coastal Blue Milk Paint by General Finishes and glazed it with Pitch Black Glaze Effects. After adding some oil rubbed bronze cup pulls, it had a new lease on life!"
"I think this one goes down in the books for epic before/after. I ended up popping off the drawer fronts and was left with THE most fabulous old wood. I bought site unseen and almost dragged it to the curb when I brought it home :/ GF Gel Stain rub down :) ✔ THAT off the list!"
This look was achieved with General Finishes Candlelite and Java Gel Stains and Pitch Black Glaze Effects to give a deeper black tone to top and sides.

It’s painted in General Finishes Driftwood Milk Paint with Pitch Black Glaze to highlight the details and add some depth."
Beautiful buffet painted in General Finishes Driftwood Milk Paint, glazed with Pitch Black Glaze Effects and sealed to protect
The bones of this kitchen are amazing, we just needed to add paint and glaze to make it brighter, and custom to the clients decor. The outer cabinets had Antique white and Van Dyke Brown glaze and the hutch and island had several layers of glaze. And when I say layers, it was 7 and that doesn’t include priming and sealing. Yikes, we sure did need an arm massage at the end of this one!
This kitchen underwent an amazing transformation using General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint. The cabinets were sanded and cleaned and prepped to a super smooth finish. Then, starting with hand rolling and brushing the base cabinets and spraying on the paint for the doors and drawer fronts in GF Antique White Milk Paint. Next, topcoating with GF High Performance Topcoat in Satin. After came the depth and detail that was brought out, using the General Finishes Pitch Black glaze. This...
I’m in love with this piece and how the wood grain pops out of the finish.
I painted it in a persian blue than sealed with sanding sealer, applied pitch black glaze and sanded till wood grain appeared. Than sealed with flat out flat for a perfect matte finish. Lightly distressed for a farmhouse shabby chic finish.
Custom Mix of GF Coastal Blue + Emerald Green, accented with Pitch Black Glaze Effects

This set of nightstands were made from a antique 1930-1940’s vanity. It was almost completely taken apart, cut up by my husband and put back together by me. The set are not identical as some details had been lost over the years. With this set you are truly getting one of a kind nightstands or end tables.
The set was completely striped. Painted gold, then painted black wet distressed, dry distressed, painted gold again and sealed. The tops were stained General Finishes antique walnut...
Those curves just said “armour” to me, so I went with it! A fantastic faux finish to look like galvanized metal. Layers of Driftwood Gray, White Glaze Effects, and Van Dyke Brown bring this dirty, rustic metal feel to life. This end table became the center of attention in a modern farmhouse living room and completed the look with perfection!!
With all of the details on this coffee table I knew I wanted to do something with lots of layers. First I painted the base in Driftwood Gray, a nice medium gray color. Next I added a topcoat preparing it for the glaze. I used pitch black glaze effects to get in all the little areas and make them pop. For the final step I used the Argentine Pearl Effects along with the pitch black glaze to layer a texture on the entire piece. I used a short stubby brush to pounce the products on the...
This beautiful Thomasville buffet did not sell in its original dated condition. The brass hardware was removed from the back and the top stripped and sanded down to remove all scratches and rings. The top was stained expresso and the body was painted in a rich custom mixed bright turqouise. It was then glazed with GF pitch black glaze and crumpled bags were used to get the faux effect. The entire piece was topcoated with GF High Performance Topcoat in flat. The result is an updated buffet/...
The elegant curves of these quaint end tables is contrasted by the rustic look of the faux barnwood tops, creating a versatile charm perfect for any decor.
"These oversized nightstands were quickly snatched up out of my inventory for custom order and now they are ready to head home! They are painted in a gorgeous midnight blue - a custom mix of General Finishes Coastal Blue and Lamp Black Milk Paint. A light accent using Pitch Black Glaze and a little extra gold wax on the hardware finished off their elegant makeover." - Kristin's Krazy Garage, LLC
This antique secretary was lovely as is, just a bit dated. With the faux barnwood finish, I was able to give it a fresh new look that perfectly complements my clients space!
"I'm a sucker for the curves of French Provincial pieces. This lady was painted for a client using a custom mix of General Finishes Milk Paint in Driftwood and Linen using a 2:1 ratio. The body was glazed with GF Pitch Black Glaze Effects for a streaky finish. The top was darkened by adding some Lamp Black to the paint mix and then streaked with the glaze. The entire piece is sealed with High Performance Topcoat for a satin finish. Last but not least the pulls were freshened up in silver...

"✨It’s official. I’m OBSESSED with gold leaf!! ✨ This unique sideboard has been updated in a custom mix of General Finishes Milk Paint in Emerald & Lamp Black, then glazed with Pitch Black. But the real showstopper is the Makers’ Studio gold leafing!! It takes a sweeping path across the piece then ends with a few sparkles on the foot.
