"I found Serena languishing in a local thrift store. She was built in my local area nearly 100 years ago. Her existing finish was alligator scaly and she was missing veneer in a lot of places. This is the second dresser I chose to tackle and I envisioned I could transform her back to glory with some paint and glaze.

I cleaned her, stripped her, patched her and sanded her, and she began to come back to life.

"This beautiful coastal dining set was originally just an ordinary table and chairs.  You know the type...orangey in color, out of style, ugly.  The top of the table was removed and I cut down different widths of wood planks to fit.  They were then sanded... and sanded some more.  Next I stained using a combination of General Finishes stains.  This combo is top secret, but I will reveal that Java, Brown Mahogany and Gray were used.  This gives the wood an old, weathered look.  I then dry...

"Building a piece of furniture is one of the most rawest forms of creativity. You get to create something straight from your mind. These doors were found items that were discovered on one of our shopping outtings and were what inspired Don to make this cabinet. He loved every moment of this process and is always so proud when people complement it. It is always the crowning glory in any vignette we create."

I was given this 100+ yr old Burl wood piano by some friends.  I loved it and hoped it could be tuned and fixed for my kids to enjoy.  After having a tuning professional check it out I was informed it would never play again.  He said to go ahead and trash it :( This beauty was never going to be headed to a landfill.  She was pretty just sitting there as is.  I decided she would be even better converted into a wine bar.  I removed the Harp, keys, strings and all the hundreds of pins.  Once...

This is the first time I tried GF gel stain in black. It's a super dark and rich color. I applied it in broad thick strokes using a paper towel. I used a loose gestural motion in the application. The end result is a subtle yet dramatic texture on the surface of this art deco dresser. The drawer fronts were sanded to the raw veneer and sealed with GF High Performance Topcoat in satin.

This classic Hepplewhite buffet was redesigned in a deep, rich gray  -  Queenstown Gray Milk Paint by General Finishes. "Layers is what it's all about with this dresser, tearing away at half dried paint with duct tape and sanding to reveal the colours underneath.  Using a patterned roller to detail the inside of the drawers. Patina Green is the most amazing colour and can look completely different in varying lighting states.
