Tuscan Red and Pine Dresser

About This Post

"This piece definitely needed to be brightened up. The dark stain just made this piece so sad and drab. The top of the dresser and all the drawer faces were sanded down and that beautiful light pine started to shine. I didn’t want too much yellow so I clear coated all the sanded surfaces with General Finishes High Performance Topcoat. My hubby reminded me that it’s been awhile since I used that beautiful GF Tuscan Red so that made my decision. The exterior was hand painted and then accented with GF Van Dyke Brown Glaze to give it a rich aged patina. I decided to keep the amazing hardware. I first sprayed it in black then lightly sprayed it with oiled bronze. Last was to accent it with some gilding wax. All the dovetailed drawers (on all sides) were lined with Waverly Inspiration Fabric." - Steener's Attic Refinished, Repurposed and Antique Furniture
