About This Post
"I fell in love with this piece the minute I saw it. I did initially sand the top and drawers but this oak had a lot of yellow which limited me to either sanding down the entire piece or painting the remainder in white...which I didn’t want to do. So I decided to stain the top and drawers faces with Minwax White Pickling Stain and paint the remainder in General Finishes Perfect Gray. I did accent the appliques and corners with distressing and then sealed everything in a matte finish. All the dovetailed drawers were lined with Clay Cotton Belt Duckcloth Fabric. I also opted to keep the original hardware which I sprayed in brushed metallic." - Steener's Attic Refinished, Repurposed and Antique Furniture
