Important Note: General Finishes always recommends sanding before refinishing and priming cabinets before applying a white or light paint. Without sanding and priming, many problems can result. If you have any questions, please feel free to visit our YouTube channel, Website, Design Center or ask questions in a GF FB private message.

Different preparation procedures are recommended depending on the type of wooden surface that you are refinishing. Here are two GF video tutorials:

Preparing an existing finish: http://bit.ly/1AUuJo0
Preparing raw/unfinished wood: http://youtu.be/Tl4s34DZolc
*"Existing finish" refers to whether the surface has a topcoat or sealer. Stain is only color, but topcoat creates a barrier.
