About This Post
"This vintage Stanley 6 foot coffee table and end table set were completely made over from top to bottom. I stripped the old finish off of the tops and stained with Minwax Rustic Mahogany gel stain. Gel stain is a great alternative to my normal oil based stain when trying to match three table tops that want to stain completely different colors. It’s thicker and can be manipulated to get a closer match. The bases were painted in a custom mix of General Finishes Antique White with a tiny amount of Harvest Yellow for a creamy, warm white that was perfect with the warm stain color.
Every edge and detail was intentionally distressed to outline all of the beautiful details. Intentional distressing, as I call it, is very intentional and follows the lines of a piece to make them stand out. I also added General Finishes Van Dyke Brown Glaze that makes those details wave and say hey look at me!! Everything was sealed with several coats of High Performance Topcoat in Flat." - Newbac Designs
