Tuscan Red Side Table

"I found myself choosing General Finishes Tuscan Red again...such a beautiful color which is rich, deep and amazing. Originally my plan had been to keep the veneer intact on this Vintage Art Deco Nightstand but unfortunately the repair wasn’t working. I was able to save the door's beautiful veneer so I first sanded it then added the stencil above and below to create a division between the two wood grains. The exterior was painted in the Tuscan Red and I added black wax to deepen the color. Inside the door was applied a pretty floral stencil and I added vintage brass hardware which was sprayed black then silver wax. Last but not least, the dovetail drawer was lined with Waverly fabric to pull all the colors together." - Steener's Attic Refinished, Repurposed and Antique Furniture
