This GORGEOUS credenza features our newest finish called the "Abstract Gold Leaf". Showcasing AUTHENTIC 24 KARAT GOLD LEAF, this exquisitely unique design is inspired by the beautiful gold leaf paintings normally seen on canvas today.
Since I absolutely love creating designs that intergrate a "Modern Marries Rustic" style, I decided to give it a go and tried to recreate this artistic painting technique on furniture.
The first layer features heavily sanded patches in random areas to expose the raw wood and emphasize a more rustic undertone. I added General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain in areas between the original finish and exposed wood grains to create depth. I then used General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint to hand-paint an abstract design across the middle section of the credenza. Followed by a series of several layers of various abstract blue tones and 24karat gold leaf sheets seemlessly blended inbetween layers. The entire piece was sealed with a semi-gloss sealer.
