The Old Blue Chair of Leighton, IA was commissioned to create a memorial piece. " We decided on this bench we made from an antique bed -- painted with General Finishes Milk Paint in Coastal Blue and Snow White. Tim from Red Rock Signworks cut a vinyl stencil that we used to paint perfect lettering. It was very lightly distressed and sealed for durability, perfect for their high-traffic showroom where it sits!" What a great way to remember a dear friend.
The color is a custom blend using General Finishes Antique White, Millstone, and a little ASCP in Coco. After painting and distressing I sealed with General Finishes top coat, then added a little dark wax and aging dust around the carvings. The top is stained in a walnut stain. This is a very beautiful statement piece with subtle colors. Thanks for sharing Buttercup's Painted Cottage Looks fantastic!

Mary Beth's Place has named this lovely 12 drawer Dixie dresser "The Princess Charlotte Dresser" in honor of the new royal baby. The body and top was painted in General Finishes Snow White, and the sides were painted in Antoinette (ASCP). I didn't want to go with an over-the-top pink dresser, but for it to be subtle and elegant. The stripes were really fun to paint! I used a measuring tape to determine the width of the stripes, taped off the stripe lines with Frog Tape, and then painted...

Before and after of a dresser conversion to vanity! I loved the detail of the original but there was no saving it!. The entire top had massive water damage and ate away the veneer top! Revolutionaries refinished this dresser with a two tone look. The top was casing was painted with GF Antique White Milk Paint. After the first coat of paint, I had a little bit of bleed through in some areas, so I sealed it with the High Performance Top Coat, sanded very lightly, and then did another coat of paint. Basically it seals in the stains so they don't peek through the paint.
I've been having a blast using General Finishes new Pearl Effects! I painted a base coat of Millstone(Milk Paint), distressed it down some, then brushed on Champagne Pearl Effects. The result is a beautiful shimmer on my taupe chair(s). I changed it up and did a jade velveteen seat and a decorative embroidered trellis on the back. Of course my signature lace trim to finish it off. There are a pair of these and they are stunning!- Restored By Rachel

Mary Beth's Place completed this gorgeous French Chair makeover. I painted it in General Finishes Antique White and added their Satin Top Coat to seal it. Then I added a little bit of detail in the lovely curves by adding General Finishes Pitch Black Glaze. When I add glaze to just the details, I use a small artist's brush and dab the glaze on a paper towel to control how much glaze is on the brush. A little goes a long way - I'll probably have this can of glaze for a very long time!

How fabulous is this Persimmon piece by The Green Bureau?! "OK, so orange isn’t for everyone, but there’s no denying that this piece is FUN FUN FUN! First time using General Finishes Persimmon Milk Paint, and I have to say, it’s a really good orange. An orange that’s too bright can look decidedly juvenile, but Persimmon has just enough spice to keep it looking both modern and mature. This piece is now available in our booth at Now Then and Again."
