Lamp Black was the perfect base for this stunning star-studded constellation dresser by Cassie at Primitive & Proper_! Cassie shares, "To give this dresser a base coat I painted it with two coats of General Finishes lamp black before painting the constellation. We can't get enough of this sweet stacked hepplewhite dresser upcycle in a custom navy by Reeves at The Weathered Door_! Reeves says, "I went with a classic navy color for this dresser. The paint color isn't your typical dark navy, though. I wanted something more greyed out and not too dark so I mixed up a custom color using General Finishes 'Coastal Blue' and 'Queenstown Gray' mixed with some Sherwin Williams 'Rainstorm'." I love using paper images on my furniture pieces, they can really make your piece a unique one of a kind! One of the most asked questions about using images is how to seal them for durability.. I always use General Finishes High Performance Topcoats. I usually start with a coat of HP Gloss to keep the colors and image vivid followed by multiple thin coats of HP satin for a beautiful finished sheen. On this piece I used Seagull Gray and a mix of Emerald, Snow White, and Corinth Blue on the...

Loving this bright and bold look from Cassie at Primitive & Proper. I removed the hardware, and got to work sanding with my orbital sander and 180 grit paper. For the color, I didn’t have exactly what I wanted so I combined General Finishes Klein Blue and Patina Green and ended up coming up with something super similar to their Corinth Blue, a vibrant turquoise. I applied two coats, and then lightly distressed all of the edges. With a clean rag, I then applied General Finishes satin...

I chose not to take the existing paint (very chippy!) off before beginning the work with General Finishes Basil Milk Paint. I...
