About This Post
"I’m not going to lie. I was “Blue” when I bought this cabinet, sight unseen, and was a little disappointed. The “Solid wood” description turned out to be a wood frame with thin hardboard sides. lesson learned. Again. I contemplated just donating it somewhere but I really liked the compact style and figured there must be SOMEONE out there that can use a little lightweight vintage record cabinet….. for some extra storage. So while it has ALL the right style, please know this isn’t a super serious hefty piece of furniture. It would make a great little spot to hide shoes in an entryway, place to put plants under a window, or some extra storage at the foot of a bed. ….Think, the size of a hope chest on legs.
Anyways, I liked the minimalist sliding doors and peg legs with long intricate bar pulls. (Can you see why I initially bought it?) So, We freshened “Bleu” up with a few coats of Blue Moon by General Finishes and sealed in a flat finish. Base of the legs (which ARE real wood) have been stained in a deep walnut for some contrast and Arm-R-seal satin finish. Original brass pulls have been gently polished." - Restoration Reserve
