About This Post
When one of my favorite, repeat clients here in Texas asked me to paint a mirror for her I was excited! She wanted it to complement the fun chevron serving cart I had just painted for her as it was to go in the same room...and I was given free reign to refinish and paint as I chose. But, little did I know it was more of a family heirloom as it turned out to be an antique that belonged to her grandmother who had recently passed away... So knowing the history and special meaning of the piece to my client I decided to remove all of the old finish (more on that in the next photo) and just do a light coat of General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain to enhance the beauty of the wood and then add a little bit of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Florence to give it some pop and to tie back to the serving cart I had already done for her. I think it's the perfect combination of preserving the past while giving new life with a modern touch of color! What do you think? - crimson + oak designs_
