Absolutely beautiful bow front buffet makeover with General Finishes Reverent Gray Milk Paint by Art is Beauty
Stripping this thrift-store find down to her bones, I rebuilt her to last another lifetime! Using General Finishes Weathered Grey on the entire piece, I brought out the beautiful wood grain she had hiding beneth the surface of her old garb. After allowing her to dry, I lightly sanded with a 400 grit to accent the wood grain further. To lighten the piece up even more, I used a mix of General FInishes Snow White and water to make my own white wash to place around her outside and edges, leaving...

Lime wax was applied and wiped back to highlight the natural patterns of the gorgeous tiger oak. The body was painted in a custom gray which complements the grain beautifully, then sealed with a flat topcoat.

General Finishes Queenstown Gray and Antique White milk paints were used to create this Chalky effect on this pretty chest of drawers. I wet blended the colors during application and then added a little DIY Paint Kissing booth for a pop of color. The top was painted in Antique White and glazed with a custom gray glaze. The body of the dresser was sealed with General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Satin. Then the beautiful IOD Transfer was applied. I sealed again with the HP Satin...
Working with transfers is becoming one of my favorite things to do. This dresser was painted in Driftwood Gray for the base and Seagull Gray for the drawers. I stained the top in Java Gel. I added the transfer to the front to take the piece to the next level. It came out perfectly.
This piece is definitely in my top 3 of favorite pieces I have ever done. The minute I picked up the dresser I knew I wanted to use a transfer on it. I found the new colored transfers and fell in love with the design. I painted the base in a deep gray, Queenstown Gray, painted the drawers in Seagull Gray, light enough to make the transfer pop. The transfer was the crowning glory. It looks perfect with the chosen colors. After sanding the top I felt a stain was needed to show off the...

This antique cabinet was given a fresh new look. After stripping and priming, I painted it in a custom blend to create this lovely fresh light grey. The interiors were treated to a fresh stain using Antique oak. For the stencil I used Pearl Effects in Argentine pearl, on both sides of the cabinet, and also used Pearl Effects to highlight corners and edging. The handles were brightened using silver Run N buff. To finish off I sealed with High Performance Top Coat, and this lovely Lady was...
This lane cedar trunk was boooooring and orange. I knew I needed to add a simple appliqué and some trim to give it some character. I love how it came out. Painted in GF Driftwood grey with gold gilding wax on the details.
First I removed all the wax and dirt with a good scrub of wash up liquid and water, and then cleaned with methylated spirits and water until all the wax was removed, then sanded smooth.
I primed the piece with shellac bin primer, then 3 coats of custom grey linen:lamp black 5:1, on the body and I then added a coat of the hptc and champagne pearl effects mix, 50:50. The drawer fronts were painted in linen
I used efex and resin mouldings, both painted in the grey and pearl...

"Modern Farmhouse style set of nightstands. These nightstands had been "stained" (by "stained" I mean someone had just brushed one coat of dark reddish brown stain over them without any prep) so I had to sand them down and when I did, I thought the drawers looked pretty farmhouse amazing as they were sanded down! I painted the tops, base, knobs and feet in a distressed General Finishes Perfect Gray to give them a Modern Farmhouse style finish. These might just be in my top faves of...
