"Sometimes a piece just needs a little refreshing to bring back its original beauty! ✨ Ashley reached out to me looking for a dark wood desk/table. When I found this unique “lady secretary desk” from 1945, we were both sold! Although we wanted to keep a dark stain, it still needed a good sanding/scrub down to raw wood to get the new stain to adhere (and to freshen it up after 78 years of use!). Thank you Ashley for trusting me with your vision!! Now she can live on for another 78 years ...
"The American Empire furniture era pulled a lot of style ques from French and Grecian designs while maintaining cleaning lines with less gilding. This allowed the focus to fall primarily on the variety of side pillars and predominantly walnut and mahogany veneer. The style found popularity beginning in the 1820s and carried throughout the 1870s with a small revival in the 1890s. Based on construction methods of this chest, I estimate it to be circa 1850 - 1880. Featuring the iconic...

We stained in a mix of General Finishes Provincial and...

"This one was definitely one of the more difficult refinishes I have done. This 100+ year old mantle was taken out of my clients home in the 80s and put in a barn and sat there for 40 years exposed to the elements as the barn began to fall into disrepair. It took SOOOOO much sanding and stripping to get back down to the original cherry wood through the old finish and years and years of grime. But with some perseverance and my go to product lines at General Finishes this mantle is back and...

"Melina came to us in the spring, but took quite some time to tell us her vision for this transformation. She appeared often as we repaired her dovetails and sanded her wood fronts, but it wasn't until fall when she chose vintage glam refinery.
