Milk Paint

"This was a monster project. General Finishes Perfect Gray is always perfect" - Raised Expectations

This is a custom mix of 3 parts Klein Blue and 1 part Emerald from General Finishes. From one angle it’s more blue and another more green. A very beautiful chameleon color. I used a satin topcoat for a lovely sheen and went back and did flat on the woven rattan on the drawers and doors for dimension. The hardware is original to the piece, cleaned and shined to a beautiful brass.

"Mid Century Modern Campaign dresser painted in custom mix of General Finishes Coastal Blue & Westminster Green Milk Paint, sealed with 3 coats of Flat polyurethane" - Refined By Ash
"This set is sooo nice and it’s made out of solid maple! When I purchased this set it was finished in a very dated orange wood color and had ugly hardware…So I got rid of all the ugly! I gave the set a whole new look by painting the bases in General Finishes Lamp black and refinished the tops in GF Graystone Water Based Wood Stain then added new hardware to complete the new look!" - NB.Restorations
"I started this one by sanding the gloss off and giving it an uneven wood look by sanding some areas more than others. I wanted to give this piece an elegant style but still keep a rustic farmhouse look. I used a stain and paint combo. I hand painted light coats of General Finishes Lamp Black, distressing in between each coat. My final coat was a black/brown glaze I made with my seal, paint and stain." - ReFabulous Finds by Christina

"Painted in General Finishes Lamp Black (she's more black than she appears), lightly distressed, and sealed in GF High Performance Topcoat in satin followed by Flat Out Flat Topcoat, this piece is timeless." - Red Geranium Restorations
The piece was originally a dated orange color pine dresser…My original plan was to strip it down and finish it in a natural wood look but the wood didn’t look how I wanted it to so instead I decided would give it a very worn black finish! I painted it in General Finishes Lamp Black the gave the piece a heavy distressing to make it look 100 years old then sealed it up in matte top coat and added all new hardware to give it the card catalog look then added a set of metal legs to give the piece...
Custom mix of General Finishes Antique White + Linen Milk Paint for a perfect creamy white.
"Lately it seems like all I paint is black…but I’m okay with that because it’s such a great color! My client wanted this dresser in Lamp Black by General Finishes. I had to do a lot of stripping to remove the previous paint job which was not properly prepped and covered in thick brush strokes. Once I had that finish removed and made a mold for the missing trim, it was ready for primer and paint! I love how this one turned out." - Flipping Unbelievable
"This Hepplewhite Buffet was literally saved from the landfill after sitting in a garage for decades. Sprayed with my Earlex 5500 using General Finishes custom mix (created by Saved By Design ) 50:50 ration of Emerald and Dark Chocolate Milk Paint." - Revived Creations by Autumn
"Not every roadside find turns out to be real wood and this is exactly what I encountered with these. Composite materials don’t stain well or consistently but I promised my client I would do my best to achieve the wood look he was after. I removed all the old paint, primed and then spray finished these bedside tables using General Finishes Dark Chocolate Milk Paint to resemble a rich espresso stain look. I sanded the tops out and then created a “faux” wood grain look. First time for...
"Gorgeous solid wood buffet. This piece was in amazing condition to begin with, so left a lot of it natural wood. Freshened it up with a coat of General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain and their High Performance Topcoat. And for the shell/body I used General Finishes Reverent Gray. The hardware was left original to the piece. It’s got a great mix of classic and modern." - Ray's Refurbishing

"This one is so much prettier in person. The photo doesn’t do it justice. I’m okay with looking at this beauty for a while. The color comes from 3 General Finishes colors. Westminster Green, Harvest Yellow and China Blue. I don’t have exact ratios as I just mixed it up…" - ReFabulous Finds by Christina

Spalted Sugarberry, gesso, India ink, milk paint, copper, and carved and ebonized cherry stand. — This egg was primarily a texture experiment. I applied gesso to the top half, and dabbed it with a pint brush as it dried. Then I ebonized via India ink, and afterward painted on several thin coats of generalfinishes “Twilight” milk paint. The bottom half of the egg showcases the amazing spalting of the Sugarberry wood. I left the upper half of the egg unfinished, and the bottom of the egg got a...

"This adorable little piece wasn’t always so clean and pretty. It came to me with thick black paint. It also had a little something carved on the top. I sanded away all the old ugly black paint and brought this piece back to life with a fresh coat of General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain on top along with their High Performance Topcoat. And for the body I used GF’s Perfect Gray Milk Paint. I gave it all new antique bronze hardware as well." - Ray's Refurbishing

"Queenstown Gray by General Finishes is a very pretty dark gray color. It does have some cool undertones, but the depth of the color is what makes it look so good. My client painted the frames (with guidance from me) and I sprayed the doors and drawers. It turned out to be an amazing transformation!" - Flipping Unbelievable
