"This was one of those pieces that I knew immediately could not be made better with paint. It was a light stain. It was, up close, pretty beat up. But it had fantastic bones and details! Stripped, sanded, filled and stained in General Finishes Antique Walnut (Gel Stain). It’s a long exhausting process! But worth it in the end♥️"
"This is one of those pieces that reminds me I really ❤️ what I do. This dresser was a gift from my clients grandfather when she was a young girl. And while it was pretty beaten up she just couldn’t stand to part with it. So she asked me if there was anything that could be done to bring this sentimental piece back to life and I was up for the challenge!
After several repairs I started by sanding down the pine top and staining it with General Finishes Java Gel Stain. The body of the...
"This adorable secretary was picked from my inventory to be renewed and I am so glad my client picked one of my favorite colors!
I started by staining the bottom a few shades darker using General Finishes Java Gel Stain while the top was painted with Persian Blue on the outside and Antique White on the inside. New catalog pulls and drawer liners that depict french address labels are the prefect final touches on this transformation!"
Absolutely stunning desk by ReFind Design by Coco Clare!
"We refinished this Vintage French Provincial Desk in General Finishes Nutmeg with a hand rubbed finish."
"This beautiful antique dresser was passed down to my client from her grandmother. Over the decades it had been painted several times and landed on a 70’s avocado green. Their dream was to have this special piece restored and hopefully showcase the beautiful wood hiding underneath the many layers of paint. First we completely stripped the piece to bare wood then stained it with General Finishes Nutmeg (Gel Stain). Finally we finished it with a rich, hand rubbed oil based satin finish. Check...

"This custom created buffet is the epitome of Rustic Elegance. Done up completely with the GF Light Brown water based dye stain on pine. The doors are maple and were done with the Brown Mahogany Gel Stain painted on. The top has been clad in solid copper that has been brought to a beautiful patina of browns and turquoises."
"I'm really pleased with how this trunk came out. Our customer picked it out of our warehouse and wanted to keep the mid-century vibe with some wood showing. She picked the new General Finishes Carbon Gray Gel Stain & GF China Blue for the base.
Gray can be tricky for older woods. The top came out nicely, but the other areas struggled to take any stain - totally normal, as they probably weren't the same cut of wood. I used a mix of Fusion Mineral Paint Ash and Clear Glaze to tone...
"Woo! She’s finally done! This desk has been a long time coming considering it’s been at least 4 months since I bought it and at least 6 weeks since I started it. She may not have landed where I had envisioned but in the end I’m happy with how she turned out.I painted this piece up in Paint Couture Paint Company Angelic and General Finishes Ash Gray Gel Stain."

The tops were striped down to bare wood and stained with General Finishes Java Gel Stain and sealed with Arm R Seal for maximum protection. The bottom was then painted in layers starting with Alabaster, followed by a color wash of Driftwood and a dry brushing of brown glaze. Once I sanded down and blended all three colors I...
"I’m all over the map when it comes to style. Today is MCM. My eclectic style is why General Finishes works for me. It doesn’t lock me in to a look and is so reliable. When I approached this dresser I was sure it was laminate. As I started to sand it down, gorgeous wood was revealed. I lightly applied General Finishes new color, Ash Gray Gel Stain and sealed with General Finishes High Performance Topcoat."

Mid century pieces are for sure growing on me. I love the simple lines and being able to mix wood grain with paint, my favorite thing to do! This dresser did not last long in my inventory, in fact I had a waiting list of interest. I will for sure be the hunt for more! This old gal brings flair to any room . Not your tech look. But for those of us that beat to a different drum and live of the beated path. Its the perfect fit.
No question this is a beautiful buffet. With great carvings and detail work. And it has it's flaws; although quite minor and cosmetic.
I really wanted to embrace the British Colonial era, and I knew I wanted to focus more on the finish of the body, rather than the center image transfer.
I think, on this piece, the image transfer is secondary. And because of that, I choose to mute the image.
My aim when working on a piece of furniture is never to make it look '...
"I love to paint furniture but sometimes the job calls for completely stripping and refinishing. It takes a lot of hard work but it turned out even better than I could have hoped for! Stained with General Finishes Gel Stain in Antique Walnut (the light parts being wiped back with mineral spirits to accentuate the lighter wood) and sealed with GF Arm-R-Seal. The first two coats were gloss for clarity and the last coat was satin to tone it down to a gentle glow. I don’t normally include a...
"This antique pew is absolutely breathtaking! Refinished using General Finishes Java Gel Stain with a High Performance Flat Finish; the perfect finish for this character filled piece. Talk about the perfect entryway bench!" - ReFind Design by Coco Clare
The bones of this kitchen are amazing, we just needed to add paint and glaze to make it brighter, and custom to the clients decor. The outer cabinets had Antique white and Van Dyke Brown glaze and the hutch and island had several layers of glaze. And when I say layers, it was 7 and that doesn’t include priming and sealing. Yikes, we sure did need an arm massage at the end of this one!
"This antique chest of drawers was once built-into an old home. It was salvaged from the home, but unfortunately, was missing proper sides and had no top other than a piece of plywood. Not to mention the finish was old, worn, and rough. It came to us in hopes to give it a fresh new life. With a new white oak quarter sawn top and sides we were ready to refinish this amazing piece. We used General Finishes Java Gel Stain and a High Performance Satin Finish. Wow, now she’s just a show-stopper...
"The top and drawers were completely sanded down and refinished using Nutmeg Gel Stain by General Finishes and sealed with High Performance Topcoat in Semi Gloss. The body was painted in their Lamp Black Milk Paint and sealed with High Performance Topcoat in Satin. The hardware is original and the drawers are in great condition inside." - Eight Hundred Furniture, LLC.
We did a bathroom remodel for our very tiny master bathroom. We needed a small vanity. We had my husbands parents old microwave cart just sitting in the garage and realized it was the perfect size but hated the yellow oak. I decided to give the General Finish Gel stain a try. It was my first time ever using it and I couldn’t believe how easy it was! I sanded the top down to the raw wood but wasn’t able to get the legs completely sanded down so I was concerned it would be splotchy. It...
This was a piece for the books. She was old, moldy, dirty, barn fresh, bird poo covered, but yet still had a lot of potential. We needed a bathroom vanity for our bathroom and I knew she would be perfect! After lots of elbow grease, she was thoroughly cleaned. For some reason she had lots of drill holes all over so those were filled with putty. This dresser was sanded and prepped, we cut her legs off and cut her depth down to fit in our super tiny bathroom. Her base was painted in GF...
This unique oval desk with the burlwood top begged for the burlwood desktop to be the star of the show, and man o man, is it ever! To play up it's stunning beauty, I chose to downplay this uniquely-shaped desk's "body" with a 50/50 blend of General Finishes Bone White Chalk Paint and General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint...a perfect blend, in my humble opinion. The body is finished off in three coats of General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Satin. But the real stunner of this...
