How gorgeous is this table by Handy Dandy Mandi?!   Mandi says, "Using a mix of Java and Black Gel Stain by General Finishes (of course!) 2 coats, then sanded back down lightly with a 320 grit, to let the grains pop. I used about 10 thin coats of Arm-R-Seal in Satin. I am super proud of the way it turned out, and the easy use of the products. "

This little dresser is a functional work of art!  The base of the dresser was painted in General Finished "Lamp Black", and lightly distressed.  It also got a "new" reclaimed wood top, which was hand-stained in a Southwestern design using 4 different GF Gel Stains: Java, Antique Walnut, Nutmeg, and Black.  The entire piece was sealed using GF high-performance satin polyacrylic for a durable finish.

This is the first time I tried GF gel stain in black. It's a super dark and rich color. I applied it in broad thick strokes using a paper towel. I used a loose gestural motion in the application. The end result is a subtle yet dramatic texture on the surface of this art deco dresser. The drawer fronts were sanded to the raw veneer and sealed with GF High Performance Topcoat in satin.
