Hammer-tone Finished Mirror Using Pearl Effects

About This Post

After cleaning with a 50/50 mix of water and denatured alcohol and lightly sanding with a 220 sanding pad, we applied 2 coats of Driftwood Milk Paint and sealed with one layer of water based High Performance Top Coat in Satin, then finished with Winter White Glaze Effects and another coat of HPTC.

For a glamorous designer look, we created a customized metallic finish over the existing finish using a combination of Argentine, Bronze and Burnished Pearl Effects thinned with 5% Extender and pounced over the original finish. (Note: Extender increases open time and workability, and makes the paint perform more like a glaze.) Finally, we sealed in the shine with 3 more coats of High Performance Top Coat in Satin!

Check out our new "How to Apply A Custom Pearl Effects Finish" video for more details on how to achieve this look! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO55bnzQTj4
