A classic piece of updated furniture. 

The drawers were decoupaged with antique sheet music, and vintage Bakelite and brass pulls complete the look. 

The dark frame was selectively distressed, with bold stripes on the sides, done with a blend of General Finishes Antique White, with a wash of GF Empire Grey. 

The top was finished with 2 coats of GF high-performance satin top coat for extra durability.

This absolutely stunning Vintage Secretary Desk has been handpainted with my custom made chalk paint recipe using Sherwin Williams Arrid Sands. I then meticulously glazed this beauty using Black Antiquing Glaze. All exposed wood has been stained using General Finishes Java Gel Stain. 18k Gold Leaf has been applied to all hardware. This desk has been sealed in General Finishes High Performance Top Coat to ensure many years of lasting durability!

My journey for my inspiration began with a newspaper article I read about Louis XVI King of France, but more interestingly his wife Marie Antionette the Queen of exquisite taste.  She amassed artworks of extraordinary opulence and beauty.  Particularly her furniture collection, the extravagant life of Queen Marie is surrounded by elegant French furniture and fabrics, very beautiful designs that are still prevalent today. 

So I dedicate my entry piece to one of the most trend setting...

My client has a huge Harry Potter crush and wanted a dresser for her son's room that would provide storage for a growing boy but also a splash of colour. I suggested using the House colours as inspiration and here is the final result. She was thrilled and no spells were put on me! Phew!

Fun weekend project making frames and doing a layered wash with General Finishes Milk Paint. We watered down the paint and used two colors on each frame. These three boys are ours! We made simple frames with pine. - Craftsman Finishes   Top Left frame- 2 parts Emerald Milk Paint + 1 part Patina Green diluted 3:1 (3 parts water to 1 part paint)   Top right - Corinth Blue diluted 3:1   Bottom- Millstone Milk Paint diluted 5:1

Can't get enough of this Italian love seat accented with GF Van Dyke Glaze Effects by Diane Llewellyn Grover of The Paint Factory LLC   Diane says, "I ventured out and used Modern Masters Metallic Paint in Olympic Gold. To tone it down a little, I used a General Finishes glaze, and sealed it with a dead flat finish. The end result is a beautiful muted gold. Quite exquisite, if I say so myself."    

Danielle of Finding Silver Pennies created the perfect Thanksgiving DIY project using techniques that she learned at the 2016 GF Flippin' Furniture Expo!

To create the base for these aged copper chargers, she coated the plates in Lamp Black Milk Paint and High Performance Topcoat Satin. She was able to create the texture using Copper Pearl Effects and Pitch Black Glaze Effects.

I used a custom mix of 2 parts Persian Blue to 1 part Patina Green Milk Paint. General Finishes Milk Paint is engineered to bond and tighten down to wood surfaces, and also be compatible with metal if the primer, such as Rustoleum Metal Primer, is added. However we cannot guarantee ideal results, especially when used on the frame of of a vehicle.

Deb and Diane of the 2 Junkin Gals blew us away with this color chest of drawers! They used multiple Milkpaints to create this "suitcase" style. They used Millstone Milk Paint for the Base while they used others like Evening Plum, Buttermilk Yellow, Corinth Blue, Tuscan Red, Dark Chocolate, Persian Blue, Lamp Black, and Queenstown Gray for the faces! They finished this piece with High Performance Topcoat Flat as well.

High Style Restyle created this easy DIY table accent design using flower pots and pom poms. She applied Winter White Glaze Effects to the pots with a damp sponge, then sanded them to give them an extra smooth and aged appearance. Then she added a little ribbon and pom poms with straws.

Amy Blotzer of Back to Life Restoration & Home Decor created a very innovative and beautiful design for a table top. She applied inking techniques to a copper metal sheet to the table. She then stained the legs and edge of the table with Java Gel Stain and sealed the piece with High Performance Top Coat Satin.

Lovely display cabinet from Delia's Home Decor! Delia says, "Small, rustic spice cabinet I recently finished using all General Finishes products. Colors are Tuscan Red and Driftwood with a glaze of Van Dyke Brown. Love their products."
