Revived Walnut Drop Leaf Table

2016 Design Challenge Entry - Professional Upcycled Furniture

"This walnut dropleaf table was living a life of obscurity in a local antique store.  With it's dull finish and missing a caster, it was screaming for a new life! I started by stripping the top finish off with Citristrip, then sanding the walnut wood smooth.  I hand-sanded the base and the turned legs to prep the surface for paint. The walnut top was treated with Watco Danish Oil in Natural. The legs were painted with General Finishes Milk Paint in Linen, then lightly distressed.  Finally the table top was given 3 coats of Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane in Clear Satin and the legs were given 2 coats of General Finishes High Performance Water Based Topcoat in Satin.  Since the existing casters didn't match each other, all the casters were replaced with new wooden casters.  Such a perfect little farm-house look to this antique table!"
